FiGD Akademie offers the Office Assistant course starting November 23, 2026, which lasts nine months. You study full-time until August 20, 2027, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The course is 100% fundable via a Bildungsgutschein (education voucher) from the Federal Employment Agency or the Jobcenter. I think that's great, because you don't pay anything for the course itself.
In the MS Office 2024 and Office Communication module, you practice Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint for everyday office work. You create templates and mail merges, build charts, and prepare convincing presentations. In Excel, you also learn simple automation with macros and structured reporting. You use OneNote for minutes and checklists; in Access, you create simple databases for office workflows.
Another focus is bookkeeping and accounting. You learn to record documents, understand business transactions, and carry out account assignments. In the DATEV practice training, you practice typical processes from small and medium-sized enterprises. In addition, there are evaluations and basics of annual financial statements, explained practically and understandably.
In the area of business and organization, you train to structure tasks and optimize processes. Topics such as business processes, e-business, and data protection according to the GDPR are also included. You also practice customer data management and time and cost planning for everyday office work. I like this part because it directly prepares you for interface work in a team.
Business English is also part of the program, from levels A1 to C2. You practice meetings, emails, and presentations in English as well as intercultural correspondence and office terminology. An English placement test is optional if you want to clarify your level beforehand.
The course is right for you if you want to start a career in the office field or refresh existing knowledge. According to FiGD Akademie, you don't need any special prior knowledge. You decide for yourself whether you learn online or come to the training center on Storkower Straße in Berlin.
The course page does not give a specific name for a completion certificate. What is certain is that FiGD Akademie is certified as an education provider according to AZAV. After the course, you can apply for roles in secretariat, team assistance, project assistance, or office management. Support tasks in accounting are also within your reach.
